Vista Health Plans has expanded its growing portfolio of products with the launch of its open access plans for individuals ages 6 months to 64-years old. You no longer have to buy an expensive PPO plan to enjoy affordable comprehensive health benefits, a huge physician network and the freedom to see a specialist without a referral. Vista now offers an HMO that offers open access in a network of more that 6,000 physicians with fixed out-of-pocket co-payments; preventive health services and an extensive drug formulary. Vista Health Plans can now offer a discounted fitness club membership at any of the 500 participating fitness clubs in Florida; a web-based smoking cessation program; and a customized online health and wellness program that utilizes interactive tools, phone coaching, peer community support and a rewards system.
The local South Florida base HMO is offering a product portfolio of HMO, Health Maintenance Organization products that an individual, family, or business alike can choose in an open access network setting as well. Prospective Vista Health Plan customers can choose from a variety of deductible plans today ranging from a zero ($0) medical deductible to a five thousand dollar ($5000) medical deductible.
Vista Health plans also offer a broad base of doctor office visit co-pays ranging from ten dollars to thirty dollars depending on the plan you choose. In addition to the variety of plans Vista offers the availability of multiply co-insurance options ranging form one hundred percent co-insurance to the most common: eighty/twenty co-insurants that we see everywhere today. Most Doctor Visits are covered under a co-pay whether it be a Primary Care Physician or a Specialist Office Visit.
In 2008, all of the plans available through Vista Health Plans have a prescription Drug benefit. This benefit has multiple tiers depending on the plan you choose; included in most plans are Formulary Generic Prescription Drugs, Formulary Brand Name Prescription Drugs, Non-formulary Prescription Drugs, Self-Injectables, and in some cases with individuals or families, a Pharmacy Maximum Benefit is place on the plan. On some plans, Vista health insurance offers to cover Oral contraceptives.
Most of Vista Health plans include Annual Physical Exams, Well Woman Visits, and Adult Preventive Care, Child Preventive Care , Well-child visits, Immunizations, and Hospital Emergency Room Visits for a co-pay. Other benefits include, Maternity as an optional rider, Skilled Nursing, Home Health Care, Hospital Care, Lab/X-ray services, and major diagnostic services. All of the Vista Health Plans available have Coinsurance limits, Out of Pocket Maximums and Life time Maximums.
Vista Health Plans products are approved by the Florida Department of Insurance. All HMO’s must have there plans filled and approved by the Florida Department of Insurance in order to sell them to the public in the state. The Florida Department of Insurance places certain restrictions on Health Insurance companies doing business in the state to protect the consumer against unfair practices.
Vista Health Plans offers childhood routine care and well child checkups at: 1 month, 2months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months,12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years of age and then yearly thereafter. For Newborns they offer a hearing screening during the recommended newborn period. Vista Health Plans At age 3 Routine vision exams are covered on most of there plans as well. Vista Health Plans also supports the preventive care guidelines and immunization schedule for children which are recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Physicians are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and to incorporate them into their daily patient management. This guideline is referenced with the understanding that a physician’s screening and treatment plan for any particular patient will be individualized. Vista Health Plan reviews these guidelines annually. It is important to note that alternative screening guidelines exist, and physicians and members are encouraged to refer to other authoritative sources as their individual clinical situation may require.
Vista in April of 2008 announced the expansion of its obstetrical and gynecologic (OB/GYNs) network as part of its women’s Health Program in Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Vista Health Plans has added over 100 OB/GYN specialists provides members with access to one of the largest OB/GYN networks in South Florida. Members of Vista's Health plans may see participating specialists in general obstetrics and gynecology as well as the sub-specialty fields of gynecological oncology, uro-gynecology, maternal fetal medicine and reproductive endocrinology.
In addition to Individual and Family products, Vista Health Plans also offers a wide range of group health insurance products for small and large business owners.
